1. Explain why you selected each of the TWO videos you
choose from the selection listed above.
I selected these videos because I wanted to learn more about
Leonardo da Vinci since his name is all over the art world. Also, the title “The power of Art” gained my attention
and I am curious to learn about what the power of art is about.
2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
The Power of Art: Caravaggio: key concept was how Caravaggio
seen art differently and wanted the viewers to feel his art work. Also, the
video discussed Caravaggio’s violent attitude, light darkness of his painting.
Leonardo da Vinci: The Mind of the Renaissance: the key
concept is how Leonardo was the first artist to make an actual landscape.
2. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
Both videos relate to the readings in the text in a way that
both discuss the history of art and how art has changed from time to time.
Also, explain and talk about the greatest artist such as Caravaggio and
Leonardo including their masterpiece and more.
3. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth
to understanding of the readings and art concepts?
I liked both film and I gained more insight on both artist
and their style of painting and drawing. The film does add depth to the reading
in the textbook.
